New OMS GX300 HTPC Features Intel Quad Core CPU

OMS GX300Digital entertainment PC manufacturer Okoro Media Systems announced the availability of the new OMS GX300 HTPC (Home Theater PC) line for 2007. The GX300 is based on the 64-bit Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad core processor and HDCP ready Nvidia 8800 GTX graphics, combined with 2GB of Kingston HyperX main memory, upgradeable to 4GB.

OMS GX300 uses two 500GB SATA hard drives with 7200rpm speed, providing one Terabyte of storage. It also has two dual-layer DVD burners.

This Intel P965 chipset based HTPC computer features DTS Connect and Dolby Digital Live Technology, as same as 7-inch touch-screen display on the media center’s front panel. The GX300 can be configured with TV Tuners with hardware MPEG-2 encoder, PCI Over-The-Air HDTV tuners or an optional USB HDTV tuner.

“The OMS-GX300 and other Ultimate line models have built-in DTS Connect Technology. This allows you to enjoy movies, games, and music at the highest quality with full DTS output. As with all Okoro Media Systems HTPCs, you can connect to many different types of audio receivers, PC speaker systems, TVs and monitors. You can connect to your audio device via Toslink or Digital Coaxial cable for Dolby 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 output. You can also connect to your TV via Composite, S-Video, Component, VGA, or DVI cable for HDTV output,” Okoro says.

Regarding networking and connectivity it has on-board 10/100/1000 Ethernet network adapter and an optional Dlink Dual Band Wireless A\B\G USB Network card.

The GX300 comes with Windows Vista Ultimate or Windows XP operating system, but it is not specified if the system is available with 64-bit versions of Vista and XP.

The new home theater PC system has a base price of $4595.
