HP has announced Pavilion m8000y and m8000e media center PCs, featuring 64-bit Intel and AMD processors respectively and HD DVD-ROM in m8000y model for high definition multimedia content playback.
Starting at $1,079, HP Pavilion m8000y is configurable with Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, E6400 or E6600 processor. You can choose between LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW burner and HD DVD-ROM.
HP Pavilion m8000e starts at $949.99 and provides a selection between dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, 5200+ and 5600+ processors. It has up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and up to 400GB hard drive. There is only LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW optical drive option.
Both media centers come with up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and with up to 400GB of data storage capacity. Graphics card choices include NVIDIA GeForce 7350LE, NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE and NVIDIA GeForce 7500LE, as well as ATI RADEON X1700SE. There is integrated 7.1 channel sound and a variety of optional TV tuners in both models.
These media center PCs have Windows Vista pre-installed, but it is not specified if there is an 64-bit Vista option available. We will update this page as soon as we get information about it.
