Hewlett-Packard has recently announced the HP Compaq 6515b and HP Compaq 6715b business laptop computers, both configurable with AMD Turion 64 x2 dual core 64-bit processors and built on the latest AMD M690 chipset.
The pre-configured 14.1-inch widescreen 6515b and the 15.4-inch widescreen 6715b models are offered at HP’s web-site with 32-bit Windows Vista Business, while some models come with Vista Home Basic. Although the option is not listed on-line, it is possible to purchase some of these laptops with 64-bit Vista.
“HP is currently pre-installing the 64-bit version of Windows Vista operating system on
its business notebook PCs,” the company’s representative told to 64-Bit-Computers, adding that for the HP Compaq 6515b/6715b (for example), the 32 and 64-bit versions will be dual installed.
HP Compaq 6515b and the 6715b come with integrated ATI Radeon X1250 with up to 512MB shared system memory and with up to 4096MB of RAM. HP’s new notebooks are offered with a variety of connectivity features such as 802.11n (draft) wireless, EV-DO UMTS/HSDPA, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth and have a starting price of $650.
