Lenovo has made available the ThinkPad W520 mobile workstation with Intel’s “Sandy Bridge” CPU options, up to the Core i7 Extreme Edition i7-2920XM.
“The fastest ThinkPad laptop yet”, according to the PC maker, comes with the Nvidia Quadro 1000M or 2000M video card, up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, and optional full HD display.
The base price for the W520 ThinkPad is $1,299.00.
Canadian laptop maker Eurocom has added the Intel Xeon X5690 processor option to the company’s mobile workstation and mobile server systems, called Panther.
Besides the server-class 3.46GHz Xeon 5690 six-core LGA 1366 CPU and other Xeon and Core i7 processor choices, the 17-inch laptops include top-of-the line Nvidia Quadro, Nvidia GeForce, and ATI Radeon dedicated vdieo cards, up to 24GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 4 hard drives.
The machines start at more than $2,500 US dollars.
Asus has released the ASUS G74SX 3D 17.3-inch gaming laptop at CeBIT 2011. It uses either LED 16:9 HD or FHD (1920×1080) resolution and a Full HD 3D LED display, the Intel Core i7-2630QM Sandy Bridge Quad Core CPU, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M dedicated video card, up to 16GB DDR3 memory, a 750GB HDD, a DVD or Blu-ray drive, a USB 3.0 port, an HDMI 1.4a port, and S/PDIF digital audio out. There is no information on pricing and availability.
Apple has released the MacBook Pro 2011 laptop lineup, including the new 13″, 15″, and 17″ models. The new MacBook Pros feature the 2nd Generation Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors, new graphics choices, new Thunderbolt 10Gbps peripheral connection technology, and the old aluminum unibody enclosures.

HP has unveiled the EliteBook 8460p, EliteBook 8560p, HP ProBook 6360b, 6460b, 6560b, and HP ProBook s-series 4230s, 4330s, 4430s, 4530s and 4730s notebook PCs. All laptops are with 2nd Generation Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors, and expected to be available in the United States on March 15.

Dell has refreshed the XPS 15 and XPS 17 entertainment notebook series with Intel 2nd Generation Core Sandy Bridge CPUs. The Dell XPS 15 L502x and XPS 17 L702x start at $1,049.99 and $899.99 respectively, at the Dell online store. Preliminary ship date for both systems is 03/15/2011.

Intel has released the new dual-core Sandy-Bridge processors for desktops and laptops. The lineup includes the Core i3-2100, Core i3-2100T, Core i3-2120, and Core i5-2390T desktop CPUs, and Core i5-2520M, i5-2540M, Core i7-2620M, Core i7-2629M, i7-2649M, Core i5-2537M, Core i7-2617M and i7-2657M for laptops.
Intel is going to release next year the 22nm Ivy Bridge platform, which includes Maho Bay platform for desktops and its Chief River laptop counterpart.

Dell has announced its new Vostro line of desktop and laptop PCs, based on AMD’s and Intel’s 64-bit solutions. The new systems are more business-oriented than Dells Inspiron consumer PCs, yet more personalized than the enterprise-class Dell Optiplex and Latitude PCs.
Dell has released the new 64-bit desktop and notebook computers. The new PCs are Inspiron 530, 530s and 531, 531s desktops; Inspiron 1720, 1721 (17-inch), Inspiron 1520 and 1521 (15.4-inch), Inspiron 1420 (14.1 inch) notebooks; and XPS M1330 (13.3-inch) notebook.
All of the major PC makers released this week their new notebooks based on Intel Centrino Pro and Centrino Duo “Santa Rosa” platform. Along with new GM965/PM965 chipsets, these laptops feature the new 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo processors, which now have 800MHz front side bus, compared to the first generation of Core 2 Duos for notebooks with 667MHz FSB. Also, now there is increased number of PC vendors offering their mobile computers with 64-bit Windows Vista OS pre-installed.
