Gateway DX430Gateway today introduced the DX430 desktop PC series, featuring Microsoft Vista operating system. The Gateway DX430 Series, powered by 64-bit Intel Pentium D and Intel Core 2 Duo processors, can be configured with Home Basic, Home Premium or Ultimate editions of Microsoft’s new operating system.

On the Gateway’s website there is only a 32-bit Vista option when you purchase the DX430, but Media Relations Director in Gateway Lisa Emard says it is possible to purchase this PC with 64-bit Vista preloaded.

“We do indeed offer the 64-bit version of Vista on our DX430. However, it’s something we offer customers over the phone vs. on the web, as we think it’s prudent to talk with our customers about some of the compatibility issues they might encounter with the 64-bit version before they make their purchase decision,” Lisa Emard said for 64-Bit-Computers.

The new DX430 desktop PCs are based on Intel G965 chipset with integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3000, which is capable of running Windows Aero 3D desktop feature in Microsoft’s new OS. Gateway DX430 computers support up to 4GB of main memory and can be configured with up to 1000GB of hard drive capacity, using two 500GB HDDs.
