Mac Pro - Now with 8 CoresApple today announced the new Mac Pro computer, which is now configurable with two quad-core Intel Xeon “Clovertown” processors running at 3.0GHz, providing a total of eight CPU cores.

Mac Pro accommodates up to four drives and 3TB of storage, offers eight DIMM slots for up to 16GB of RAM, and provides up to two SuperDrives. You can choose between three graphics cards, including the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT (256MB), ATI Radeon X1900 XT (512MB), and NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 (512MB). You can also configure Mac Pro with as many as four GeForce 7300 GT graphics cards, Apple says.

Gateway E-2610Gateway Inc. has announced a new Small Form Factor (SFF) desktop PC – the Gateway E-2610. It features Intel 945G chipset with integrated graphics chip, supports 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo processors and comes in three BTX case options.

“The Gateway E-2610 can be configured for entry-level to high-end mainstream performance, making it ideal for mass deployment into areas where performance and reliability are crucial. Alienware Area 51 ALXPC maker Alienware is now offering Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 quad-core overclocked processors standard in the Area-51 ALX gaming desktop computer. Also, for a limited time only, customers will have the option of choosing the quad-core overclocked processor in the Area-51 7500 desktop, according to Alienware.

Alienware increased the clock rate of the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 from the default level of 2.66 GHz to 3.2 GHz.

TyanPSC T-650 QXTyan Computer Corporation announced today the immediate availability of the TyanPSC T-600 series Personal Supercomputer featuring new low-power 50-watt quad-core server processors from Intel. The TyanPSC T-650 QX can be configured with up to 40 processing cores and up to 60GB of system memory.

“With a maximum power draw of 15A the TyanPSC can be deployed in many non-traditional computation environments: starting with the office or home and extending to the ship, plane or remote outpost. With 40 processing cores available for high-performance computing there is a lot of compute power in a compact system. The system utilizes the Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor L5320. The new 50-watt quad-core processor operates at 1.86 GHz and features a unique 8 megabytes (MB) of on die cache for faster memory data communication and interfaces with a dedicated 1066 MHz front side bus. Commodore Gaming PC - Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2Commodore, known for its popular computers in the eighties of last century, is coming back on the computer market with a new line of high-end custom gaming PCs. The Commodore’s 64-bit gaming PCs will come with a two-year warranty on parts and service. The various models, from entry-level to high-end, are the Commodore Cg, Cgs, Cgx, and Cxx, DV Hardware reports.

DV hardware also published the specifications of the high-end Commodore Cxx.

Alienware MJ-12 8550i, Alienware MJ-12 8550aAlienware has released the Intel-based MJ-12 8550i and the AMD-powered MJ-12 8550a workstations at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2007 in San Francisco. The MJ-12 8550i is loaded with the Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processors 5300 series, while the Alienware MJ-12 8550a is equipped with the AMD Opteron 2000 Series.

“Available in single and dual-processor customizations, the MJ-12 8550i features up to eight total processing cores and delivers 50 percent greater performance than previous-generation Intel Xeon processor-based workstations. The Alienware MJ-12 8550i and MJ-12 8550a both have starting price of $2,499.

Shuttle XPC P2 3700wShuttle announced the XPC P2 3700w, the company’s first small form factor (SFF) workstation PC. The P2 3700w is powered by Intel Xeon E3050 or X3210 quad-core CPU and provides the use of up to 8GB of DDR2 667MHz main memory, when utilized with 64-bit operating system.

Shuttle offers the XPC P2 3700w workstation with Microsoft’s Windows Vista Business 64-bit and Windows XP Professional 64-bit. You can configure this PC with Vista Business 32-bit and XP Professional 32-bit, but this limits the use of system memory to 4GB.

OMS GX300Digital entertainment PC manufacturer Okoro Media Systems announced the availability of the new OMS GX300 HTPC (Home Theater PC) line for 2007. The GX300 is based on the 64-bit Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad core processor and HDCP ready Nvidia 8800 GTX graphics, combined with 2GB of Kingston HyperX main memory, upgradeable to 4GB.

OMS GX300 uses two 500GB SATA hard drives with 7200rpm speed, providing one Terabyte of storage. It also has two dual-layer DVD burners.

Velocity CineMagix Grand Theater, CineMagix Pro CinemaVelocity Micro announced today the CineMagix Grand Theater and the CineMagix Pro Cinema media center PCs, which ship with AMD’s HDTV tuners, a large storage space and Microsoft’s Windows Vista with Digital Cable support.

The CineMagix Grand Theater is Intel Core 2 Duo/Extreme/Quad-based with Intel D975XBX2LKR Bad Axe II motherboard and up to 2.25 terabytes of hard drive storage. It’s graphics is powered by NVIDIA’s GeForce with DirectX 10 support. The CineMagix Grand Theater is priced starting at $2195.
