Shuttle has introduced the XPC G5 3300 computer, the full 1080p HD Media Center XPC with optional Blu-ray HD DVD Dual Formats Optical Drive and DVR capabilities. “Supporting HDMI technology, the G5 3300m lets you watch and record TV shows, including the over-the-air high-definition channels. The G5 3300 is home to blazingly fast Intel Core2 Duo or Core2 quad processors and manages up to 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM. Built-in Dolby Digital Live and DTS connect make the Shuttle XPC G5 3300 the ideal platform for thrilling 3D games and exciting films,” Shuttle announced.

Shuttle now offers a SFF barebone PC featuring the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) – the Shuttle XPC SG33G5. Shuttle XPC Barebone SG33G5 is based on Intel G33 Express chipset and supports 775 socket Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo E6000/E4000 Series, Pentium Dual-Core E2000 Series, and Celeron 400 Series processors, as well as 1333 Mhz FSB.
Acer showcased its Aspire X3600 6.5-liter mini-PC at Computex Taipei 2007. The machine adopts an 64-bit processor, the latest G33 chipset with integrated graphics, ICH9DH southbridge, and MXM (mobile PCI Express module) slot for hardware expansion. Acer is also planing to introduce a same-sized model built around ATI Radeon X1250/X1200 chipsets, named the Aspire X1100.
MSI Media Live is the latest addition to computer maker’s Media Center PC family and is currently showcased at COMPUTEX 2007 Show. MSI Media Live is powered by AMD64 dual-core processors, AMD Live! technology and the NVIDIA integrated graphics. It supports High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI).
AMD announced the finalization of the DTX specification, an open standard initiated by AMD to enable the development of small form factor (SSF) PCs. AMD also introduced new 45-watt energy-efficient processors based on 65nm technology, the AMD Athlon X2 dual-core processor BE-2350 and the AMD Athlon X2 dual-core processor BE-2300 at Computex Taipei 2007.
Dell today expanded its desktop gaming PC line with the XPS 720 H2C Edition.

HP has announced Pavilion m8000y and m8000e media center PCs, featuring 64-bit Intel and AMD processors respectively and HD DVD-ROM in m8000y model for high definition multimedia content playback.
Starting at $1,079, HP Pavilion m8000y is configurable with Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, E6400 or E6600 processor. You can choose between LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW burner and HD DVD-ROM.
Hewlett-Packard has announced Intel based HP Pavilion a6005y/a6000y desktop PC series, as well as AMD powered Pavilion a6010e desktops.
The Pavilion a6005y/a6000y ship with Intel Celeron D 360, Intel Pentium 4 641 or Intel Pentium D 925 processors, all supporting 64-bit operating systems and software. HP a6005y provides a choice between integrated Intel 950 graphics, 64MB NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE and 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 7350LE, while the a6000y uses Intel 950 only. Regarding storage, a6005y has up to 400GB of hard drive capacity, contrary to a6000y providing up to 160GB. These Intel based Pavilions come with up to 2GB of DDR2 533MHz memory.
Hewlett-Packard has announced the HP Pavilion Slimline s3000y and HP Pavilion Slimline s3000e desktop computer, both smaller than “one-third the size of a regular PC” and powered by Intel’s and and AMD’s processors, respectively.
The s3000y, which starts at $549, can be configured with CPUs in range from 64-bit Intel Pentium 4 641 to 64-bit Core 2 Duo E6300, as well as with integrated Intel 950 or with one of the dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE/7350LE/7500LE video cards.
Intel plans to push its forthcoming Santa Rosa platform, scheduled for launch at the beginning of May, under its notebook PC platform brands Centrino Pro and Centrino Duo, as well as under a Viiv branded desktop platform too, according to Digi Times’ sources.
“PC makers such as AOpen, Sony and Shuttle have used mobile on desktop (MoDT) platforms to create small form factor systems targeted primarily at noise or space sensitive environments, such as SOHO and living room PC markets. However, these systems have found difficulty in expanding sales in to the wider desktop market due to higher costs, lower performance, and lower expansion options compared to traditional desktop systems,” the report says.
