Asustek has released the AMD 690 chipset-based Asus M2A-VM HDMI and Asus M2A-VM motherboards, both enabling playback of HDCP multimedia content.
Asus M2A-VM HDMI features multiple video outputs including HDMI for playback of high definition content, DVI, RGB and TV-out, while the Asus M2A-VM version provides playback of Blu-ray and HD DVD discs with HDCP via a DVI output. The ASUS M2A-VM HDMI motherboard also supports Surroundview – a feature that allows up to four monitors to display simultaneously. On the other side, the M2A-VM enables dual VGA output with DVI and RGB ports combined.
The latest AMD’s 690G chipset in these motherboards is designed for use with 64-bit AMD Socket AM2 processors and supports Dual-channel DDR2 800MHz memory. The new mainboards provide the integrated ATI Radeon X1250-based graphics with maximum shared memory of 256MB, Gigabit Ethernet and six-channel audio.
Another additional feature in Asus M2A-VM HDMI version is a Fire-Wire port.
