Appro, an enterprise computing systems provider, today announces the Appro XtremeWorkstation featuring two to four AMD Opteron 8000 series processors and up to 128GB of DDR2 memory.
The new Appro XtremeWorkstation is ideal for technical workloads in Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD), Engineering (MCAE), petroleum visualization, automotive, aerospace, electronic design, digital content creation artists, 3D modeling and CAD.
The XtremeWorkstation offers up to two PCI-Express x16 slots for high-end graphics cards such as the NVIDIA Quadro FX4500 X2 or the NVIDIA Quadro FX5500. Regarding hard drives, the new workstation comes with up to 4.0TB SATA or up to 2.4TB SAS storage. The XtremeWorkstation also has Dual Broadcom 5721 Gigabit controller.
The Appro’s new workstation can be configured with a variety of 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems. There are Linux, Solaris, UNIX, Windows 2000, XP and Windows Server 2003 options when buying XtremeWorkstation. For taking advantage of use of main memory larger than 4GB, the system has to be configured with 64-bit OS.
