AOpen released the MP945-VDR, its newest addition to miniPC Duo Series of small media center computers. The new mini PC with 6.49×1.96×6.49-inch size is based on the Intel 945GM Express chipset, and comes with 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Windows Vista operating system.
“The MP945-VDR brings the latest Mobile on Desktop (MoDT) technology to market by offering tremendous power and connectivity in a super compact, quiet, and low power consuming solution. Featuring support for Intel Core 2 Duo processors, dual-channel DDR2 SODIMM memory (up to 4GB) and myriad of I/O and peripheral connectivity like DVI, 1394, six USB 2.0 (two onboard), optional wireless 802.11b/g and more, the MP945-VDR is a Microsoft Windows Vista Premium and Intel Viiv ready solution equally at home at the heart of an entertainment center or as a compact, standalone everyday PC,” the AOpen’s press release says.
The new AOpen miniPC Duo has an integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with DVI / YPbPr / S-Video outputs and a 5.1 channel sound. It also provides Gigabit Ethernet and an optional Bluetooth. AOpen MP945-VDR incorporates SATA II 2.5-inch hard drive support, and a DVD burner.
It includes remote control featuring Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) and the Intel Viiv standard.
The MP945-VDR is claimed to have “the whisper quiet operation” at 26db.
