AMD Quad FX Bundle Coming Soon at NewEgg

AMD Quad FX Athlon ProcessorsNewEgg is about to announce availability of AMD Quad FX bundle, which consist of Asus L1N64-SLI WS mainboard and two paired dual-core Athlon 64 FX 70,72 or 74 CPUs using Socket F (1207FX).

The Inquirer reports the Asus-made Quad FX – also known as AMD 4×4 platform – motherboard should end up priced at $349 but is likely to drop very soon to suggested $299 while the CPUs will costs $999 for pair of two FX74, $799 for pair of FX72 and $599 for the slowest two FX70 processors.

“It is just a matter of hours. Our sources tell us that the boards and CPUs have alreday landed in Newegg’s backyard,” the Inquirer reports.

We have checked the Newegg.com for Quad FX offerings today, but currently there are only AMD’s recommended Quad FX Platform chassis products priced at around $160 each.

According to the earlier reports, ASUS L1N64-SLI WS is based on NVIDIA nForce 680a chipset supporting two socket-1207 processors with four memory slots—two slots per processor. The 680a chipset has 56 PCI Express lanes, allowing use of two SLI graphics cards both working at full x16 mode and additional two graphics cards working at x8 each.
