AMD Live! multimedia platform will start supporting Blu-ray and HD DVD in the Q3 this year, according to industry sources.
While Intel’s Viiv multimedia platform focuses on high performance CPUs and chipset specifications, AMD gives more emphasis on the specifications of multimedia audio-visual devices, the sources said to Digi Times.
The support for Blu-ray and HD DVD by AMD Live! will be a boost for the blue-laser market, according to the report.
