Alienware announced the overclocking option for the 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile (Merom) processors in Area-51 m5790 and Area-51 m5550 laptop PCs.
The company says the customers now can take advantage of higher processing performance without the higher price, when purchasing the 17-inch m5790 and 15.4-inch m5550 gaming notebooks.
“By safely increasing processor clock frequency above default levels, Alienware ensures mobile users are equipped with more speed for everything from faster system startups to smoother-running games and applications while on the go”, the announcement says.
The both CPU overclocking capable Alienware’s notebooks have dedicated graphics cards from ATI and NVIDIA and starting prices of $1,299 and $1,049, respectively.
