MSI P35 Platinum D3HardwareZone has published details of a forthcoming MSI P35 Platinum D3 motherboard based on Intel’s “Bearlake” chipset. The MSI P35 Platinum D3 will support DDR3 memory modules with speeds of up to 1333MHz, according to the report.

Along with a LGA775 socket supporting Intel’s 64-bit processors, and four DDR3 memory slots, the P35 Platinum D3 will feature two PCI, two PCIe x1 and two PCIe x16 slots.

i946GZm-DF AOpen has released i946GZm-DF motherboard. AOpen i946GZm-DF adopts socket 775 supporting Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4, and Celeron D processors with 800MHz FSB. Intel’s 946GZ chipset in this motherboard provides support for up to 4GB of DDR2 667/533 dual channel memory and incorporates Graphics Media Accelerator 3000.

On board there is PCI Express x16 slot and Azalia 7.1 channel audio. AOpen i946GZm-DF has eight USB 2.0 ports and Firewire. There is also Realtek’s Gigabit PCI LAN Chip on board.

Lenovo ThinkPad Lenovo will release in May the “Santa Rosa” platform based ThinkPad T61 and R61 14.1-inch widescreen notebooks, according to IBM’s web site. Both next-generation Intel Centrino laptops feature new 64-bit Core 2 Duo processors (T7100, T7300, T7500, and T7700) and will come with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista.

ThinkPad T61 and ThinkPad R61 are both built on Intel GM/PM965 chipsets with 800MHz front side bus, and have Wireless N (IEEE 802.11n draft) and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 IGP, while select models incorporate dedicated NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M graphics, Intel Turbo Memory technology for faster boot-up and application loading, and broadband wireless connectivity options. These “Santa Rosa” ThinkPads support up to 4GB of main DDR2 memory.

T671ME-FJSiS has announced that its SiS671FX chipset is used in the new Fujitsu T671ME-FJ motherboard, which recently entered mass production.

The SiS671FX chipset supports Intel Core 2 Duo, Celeron D, and Pentium 4 processors as well as DDR2 667 memory. As for the graphics performance, the SiS671FX chipset delivers the integrated Mirage 3 graphics engine in addition to one PCI Express x16 slot for upgrades, according to SiS.

IntelIntel has published price cuts of up to 40% for its select desktop and server processors, DigiTimes reports.

Regarding desktop-use CPUs, the Core 2 Quad Q6600 has fallen in price to US$530 while CPUs in the Core 2 Duo E6X00-series have been cut by up to 40%. Intel has also cut the price of the Core 2 Duo E4300 from US$163 to US$113, as well as of the Pentium D 935, 925, 915 and 820 processors for 37%, 35%, 12% and 6% respectively.

Intel Core 2 DuoAlong with Core 2 Duo E4400 “Allendale” processor, Intel has silently launched last week Core 2 Duo E6320 and E6420 “Conroe” CPUs.

The E6320 and E6420 are clocked at 1.86 GHz and 2.13 GHz and are priced at $173 and $197 at NewEgg, respectively. Both CPUs have 4MB of L2 cache and 1066 MHz front side bus speed.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 The just launched Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 “Allendale” 64-bit dual-core processor for desktop computers is now available for purchase at various online retailers.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 is clocked at 2GHz and features 2MB of L2 cache, as well as 800MHz front side bus. Currently, it is best priced at NewEgg, where it costs $145.

AMD Opteron Dual-Core AMD today announced the widespread availability and pricing of earlier introduced AMD Opteron Model 2222 and 8222 SE x86 dual-core 64-bit server and workstation processors. The company also said its forthcoming “Barcelona” quad-core Opteron CPUs will have significant performance advantage over the best Intel’s quad-core unit with the same clock speed.

“The new Barcelona projections are based on the latest SPECcpu2006 benchmarks and show that AMD expects to have up to a 50 percent advantage in floating point performance and 20 percent in integer performance over the competition’s highest-performing quad-core processor at the same frequency”, AMD says.

HP Pavilion m8000y, m8000eHP has announced Pavilion m8000y and m8000e media center PCs, featuring 64-bit Intel and AMD processors respectively and HD DVD-ROM in m8000y model for high definition multimedia content playback.

Starting at $1,079, HP Pavilion m8000y is configurable with Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, E6400 or E6600 processor. You can choose between LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW burner and HD DVD-ROM.

HP Pavilion a6005y/a6000y/a6010eHewlett-Packard has announced Intel based HP Pavilion a6005y/a6000y desktop PC series, as well as AMD powered Pavilion a6010e desktops.

The Pavilion a6005y/a6000y ship with Intel Celeron D 360, Intel Pentium 4 641 or Intel Pentium D 925 processors, all supporting 64-bit operating systems and software. HP a6005y provides a choice between integrated Intel 950 graphics, 64MB NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE and 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 7350LE, while the a6000y uses Intel 950 only. Regarding storage, a6005y has up to 400GB of hard drive capacity, contrary to a6000y providing up to 160GB. These Intel based Pavilions come with up to 2GB of DDR2 533MHz memory.

HP Pavilion Slimline s3000y/s3000eHewlett-Packard has announced the HP Pavilion Slimline s3000y and HP Pavilion Slimline s3000e desktop computer, both smaller than “one-third the size of a regular PC” and powered by Intel’s and and AMD’s processors, respectively.

The s3000y, which starts at $549, can be configured with CPUs in range from 64-bit Intel Pentium 4 641 to 64-bit Core 2 Duo E6300, as well as with integrated Intel 950 or with one of the dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE/7350LE/7500LE video cards.
