Intel announced ‘Santa Rosa’, next generation Centrino laptop PC platform designed for 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo (codenamed Merom) processor. The Santa Rosa will incorporate 802.11n Wireless standard, ‘Robson’ NAND Flash hard drive cache, GMA X3000 integrated graphics card and 3G WAN card. The forthcoming Intel Centrino platform will feature 667Mhz up to 800MHz frontside bus, but the bus speed can be dynamically reduced and raised, as required by the operating workload.

Abit is expanding its digital home series into AMD processor supported platforms with the nVidia GeForce 6150/nForce430 chipset based NF-M2 nView motherboard. The new NF-M2 nView features 7.1 channel high definition audio and integrated GeForce 6150 onboard graphics with up to 256MB shared memory and a DVI-connector for digital high definition graphics output. The integrated nView technology allows the simultaneous use of two monitors while multi-streaming audio.
NF-M2 nView motherboard supports AMD Socket AM2 processors and has 1 x PCI-E x16, 1 x PCI-E x1, 2 x PCI slots. It supports up to four SATA hard drives and DDR2 memory.

HP announced the Pavilion Media Center TV m7600n Series PC featuring Intel Core 2 Duo 64-bit processor, HD-DVD high-definition DVD player, Intel Viiv technology, wireless home networking and 7.1 surround sound.
The HP Pavilion m7600n has built-in TV tuner NPSC allowing users to watch and record live television.
Intel announced that it will begin shipping the first quad-core Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processors this November. The QX6700, codenamed “Kentsfield”, is clocked at 2.66GHz and incorporates two dual-core chips on a single package with a total of 8MB of L2 cache memory.
It is reported that PC performance increases 70 percent for some applications with Intel’s new Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor.
Lenovo today introduced several new desktop PCs including the new ThinkCentre M55p with Intel vPro technology. The new M55p is part of two lines of ThinkCentre desktops that, for the first time, offer the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The two lines of Core 2 Duo-enabled ThinkCentre desktops include the M55p, M55, M55e, A55 and A53. All ThinkCentre M and A Series desktops offer customers a choice of Intel’s Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D processors.
ThinkCentre M and A Series are Microsoft Vista capable.

Dell announced Intel Core 2 Duo-powered XPS 210 desktop PC made for home entertainment. “As with every XPS desktop, the XPS 210 also includes prioritized XPS sales and support service, a flat-panel monitor, 15-month security subscription and Windows XPS Media Center Edition 2005 as standard,” Dell’s press release says.
Along with choice between Core 2 Duo E6300, E6400, E6600 and E6700 processors, Dell XPS 210 provides up to 4GB of memory, up to 500GB SATA hard drive and an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000 upgradeable with ATI Radeon X1300 Pro with 256MB of video memory. The XPS 210 comes with LCD widescreen monitor with size in range from 17 inches to 24 inches or without monitor. The announced Dell’s PC has integrated 7.1 channel audio. A TV Tuner with remote controller is also offered. Dell XPS 210 has five USB ports, one x16 PCIe slot and one x1 PCIe slot.
Dell has updated its Dimension desktop PC line with three new models featuring Intel’s and AMD’s 64-bit processors.
The customizable Dell Dimension E520 comes with Intel Core 2 (codenamed Conroe) and Pentium D CPUs. Dimension’s E520 motherboard provides four slots (one x16 PCIe, one x1 PCIe and two PCI).
Hewlett-Packard launched the HP z560 and HP z565 digital entertainment centers at the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) tradeshow. The new HP Digital Entertainment Centers can be used as high-definition digital video recorders. HP’s Intel Viiv compliant HP z560 and HP z565 DECs are powered by Intel’s Pentium D 64-bit dual core processors and include HDMI connectivity. The new DECs are Windows Vista Premium Ready.
The HP z560, with suggested retail price of $1800, includes a 3GHz Pentium D 945, 1GB of RAM, a 300GB internal hard drive.
Priced at $3000, the HP z565 offers a 3.4GHz Pentium D 945 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 500GB internal hard drive and a 300GB removable personal media drive.
HP z560 and z565 also include Super Multi-Drive DVD burners, dual NTSC tuners and one ATSC tuner for over-the-air broadcast reception.
Asustek Computer today announced the Asus P5B-VM DO motherboard based on Intel Q965 Express chipset, supporting Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme, codenamed Conroe, processors and the Intel vPro technology. The Asus P5B-VM DO has integrated graphics and it’s specifically designed for business PCs, according to the Asustek’s press release.
“The processor and chipset combination form the foundation of vPro, Intel’s next generation digital office platform, offering remote out-of-band manageability, improved security, and energy efficient performance”, Asustek published.
